Operation Write Home

I am currently making cards for Operation Write Home, which sends blank handmade cards to deployed servicemen and women. OWH is an amazing organization that ships thousands of cards each month to our nation's Heroes so they have something to write home on. Please check out the tag on the sidebar for more information on this inspiring mission. Please join me in supporting our men and women who sacrifice for us all.

OWH CAS Skip!

The skip (mini-blog hop) theme this time is CAS, aka Clean and Simple.  Sometimes that is easier said than done.  Kate said, it is the Little Black Dress of card styles and my being out here on the farm doesn't lend to getting a good vision of what that is.  So, here is my "little black dress."  I have plans to make more of these tonight and then give it another go with another design tomorrow.
Edit:  I finally got some good sunlight to take the picture and here it is with the other colors I used.  I like how these came out and will probably make more.

Inchies!

This week the challenge at OWH Stars and Stamps blog is to make cards with inchies.  I had made these squares a while back with a bunch of Looney Tunes stickers.  I love the colorful squares and they made such a fun card!  I have a bag of these pre-made squares so I'll make up a pile of these cards.  I'm hoping the kids like these cards.

Birthday packages!

I finally caught a break from my crazy work schedule and found a bit of quiet time to make some cards. I was making these flowers while watching a movie and in the light of day they just seemed to jump onto the Happy Birthday embossed sheets I had made a while back. I thought the silver wrapping ribbon would make them look like packages. I made 8, all a tad bit different and have a few flowers left over to make some more.
